THE VINYL AND VISUALS PROJECT

The Future of the Underground is Archival. In an era of fully automated digital performance, Dystopian Music is reintroducing the physical. Our latest project, Vinyl and Visuals, is an immersive live experience that pairs the raw warmth of 90s Drum & Bass and Trance with the low-poly, glitch-heavy aesthetics of legacy video hardware.

Vinyl & Visuals

While the Lo-Fi EP explored the warmth of sampled textures, our latest venture, Vinyl and Visuals, takes that philosophy to the live stage. Recorded on February 28th, this showcase represents a move toward high-fidelity archival recording.
Raw vinyl, paired with hardware-generated Y2K visuals (sourced from legacy CCTV and PS3 hardware), has bridged the gap between 90s underground grit and modern technical standards. This isn’t just a DJ set; it’s a deliberate rejection of software automation in favour of real-time, hardware-driven performance.
